Additional Information: c1917- This album belonged to Charles Shedd Clifford, a WWI US ARMY Officer stationed with an anti-aircraft school in France. Brest and Paris are mentioned, contains 44 snapshot photos and nearly every page features typewritten diary notes, fascinating details including pretty girls, landscapes, and images of French people & country life. There is an opera ticket stub, and official bread rationing coupons for the military tipped in. Also photos of their transport ship running aground off Fire Island on the trip return home.
The album is in very good condition, approx. 4" x 6", and the snapshots are generally 3.5 by 2.5 though some are larger. The images are all sepia tone, and many are somewhat faded.
