"Epingle a Cheveaux" (The Hairpin), cast and patinated bronze, signed by 'Le Garagiste', with facsimile autographs of Rene and Maurice Dreyfus, roughly 4" x 11 1/2" x 6". Fine condition. The car: Mathis Type P 6 HP. The driver: Rene Dreyfus. The riding mechanic: Maurice Dreyfus. The date: June 13th, 1924. The place: Circuit de Gattieres. The historic significance: the first race, and the first race victory, of a future French driving champion. The poignant significance: Maurice at Rene's side, guiding him in his first competitive event... a symbol in bronze of a lifelong partnership.
