**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Central Asia, Bactria-Margiana (BMAC), ca. 2nd to early 1st millennium BCE. A petite cast-bronze cup of a dainty size with a circular foot, a narrow stem, and elongated walls that form a deep basin. A cup like this example was perhaps used for ritual contexts for the living or as a votive offering for the dead. Mottled layers of beige, brown, and green patina envelop the entire vessel. Size: 1.7" W x 2.625" H (4.3 cm x 6.7 cm)
Provenance: private southern California, USA collection, acquired before 2000
