[John F. Kennedy] Inaugural Medallion & Assassination Ephemera & Replicas
An archive of items relating to the very start and sad end of John F. Kennedy's presidency. From the collection of Ron Hoskins, assassinologist. Includes the following items:
John F. Kennedy Inaugural Ball Medallion. Measuring 1" in diameter, [Washington, D.C.], January 20, 1960. A gold medallion charm was given to those in attendance, featuring engravings of the profiles of Kennedy and Johnson on the front. The verso is inscribed: "Kennedy/ Johnson/ Inaugural Ball/ January 20, 1961." Housed in the original box. Very fine.
Three Sets of Replica Assassination Bullets. Two 6.5mm Mannlicher Carcano Bullets in each set. One is housed in resin, measuring 1.5" x 2". The others are loose and housed in plastic sleeves. One bullet is pristine, while the other has been crushed at the end. Light wear to the resin.
Hotel Dallas Room Key. Measuring 1.5" x 6.75", Fort Worth, Texas, no date. A replica key, Room 432, for the hotel President and Mrs. Kennedy stayed in the night before his death. They stayed in Room 850. The silver key has been attached to a black wooden tag with gilt writing. Light soiling and wear.
Vintage CIA Minute Man Tie Clip. Measuring 1.75" x 0.5", no place, no date [c. 1960s]. A gold tie clip, in the shape of a cigar, reading "Minute/CIA/Man." Light wear and tarnishing.
