An 1866 election ticket for New York, printed sheet with three tickets on the page. The ticket sought to elect John T. Hoffman as governor and Robert H. Pruyn as Lieutenant Governor. Neither won this election, however Hoffman was later elected in 1868. At the time of this election Hoffman was mayor of New York and would become the last mayor elected as Governor. Robert Hewson Pruyn (February 14, 1815 – February 26, 1882) was an American lawyer, militia general, diplomat, and politician from Albany, New York. He was most notable for his service as Speaker of the New York State Assembly, Adjutant General of New York, and United States Minister Resident to Japan. 8"x10".
