Exceptional George III Green-Stained Tortoiseshell Tea Caddy
ca. 1800, of octagonal form, with Sheffield plate fittings, the interior with a pair of lidded compartments, raised on brass ball feet.

Condition
In overall very good condition with elegant, well-matched figuring and rich color. The exterior surfaces highly
polished with no readily apparent issues.
The cover interior lined with marbleized paper and exhibiting old glue around the recessed perimeter with
evidence of typical old restorations at the hinges.
The cover and top edges of the box lacking the typical banding/trim.
The compartments retain remnants of the original paktong lining; one cover with a compatible diagonal surface
patch.
All of the above consistent with age and use.
