Collection of Seven English Tortoiseshell Boxes

19th century, including three rectangular snuff boxes, a tin-lined box, a plush-lined heart-shaped jewel case, a flat card case, and one with a slanted cover.

In generally very good condition consistent with age, use and materials. The card case with a loss to a corner of the lid (top and sides), separation at one edge, buckling to the bone lining at the lid and therefore, the lid doesn't close properly. The heart-shaped box with tarnishing to silver and abrading to edges where the silver meets the tortoise case. Square box with chipped loss to one corner of the lid. Paper interiors with wear and losses. Two of the rectangular boxes with filler at the corners and edges and one has a pieced-in patch at the back. The footed box with very minor chips to edges. One box with a loss to front left side of the body, a patch repair to lid and a minor hairline crack.
