This piece is titled "Perfume" and depicts a leaning woman smelling flowers with flowing hair and a snake wrapped around the waist. The sculpture is accented with gilt gold details and shows a lovely patina. The piece is signed "Erte" at the top and is numbered 220/300 and also bears the stamp of the publisher "Fine Art Acquisitions" and date "1984". This is a rare, limited edition piece by one of the most influential and unique artists of the 20th century. Over a long and distinguished career, Erte had a major influence on the style and design of the 20th Century. The designs created by Erte during his lifetime heavily influenced the world of theater, film and fashion, but an entire art movement as well. His work is considered among the most influential and unique of the 20th century, earning him the title "Father of Art Deco." Erte's original designs grace the permanent collections of prestigious museums throughout the world including New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art and the Smithsonian Institution.
