Description
Ridgway Glover (1831-1866). Stereoview photograph of former president Abraham Lincoln's funeral on Broad Street in Philadelphia on April 22, 1865. Lincoln's casket is shown being pulled by a funeral car and is surrounded by a mass of solders and onlookers filling the street. People are visible covering even the roofs of buildings lining the street, hoping to witness the historic event. A sign above one building in view reads, "M.S. Myers. / Flour, Grain & Mill Fee[d]." Ink inscription on verso reads, "Lincoln's Funeral. The Procession on April 22nd. Harry F. Baxter. 5/5/65."
