Description

STEINER RUDOLF: (1861-1925) Austrian Philosopher, Founder of Antroposophy. Steiner was also a literary Critic, Architect, and a claimed Clairvoyant. Rare A.L.S., `SteinerÂ´, one page, to a German postcard, Berlin, to Paul Quensel, in German. Steiner congratulates his correspondent on the success of his drama â€œUm die Scholle”, stating `So â€œAuf der Scholle!” has premiered. We rejoice at your success. Please send our best wishes to all the group.” The card bears two additional autograph messages by Otto Hartleben beneath SteinerÂ´s one, the first signed more familiarly `Otto ErichÂ´, and the second as `Otto HartlebenÂ´ impersonating in jest a more formal personality. All three being humorous messages with a wordplay on the name of QuesnelÂ´s drama, calling it â€œAuf der Scholle”. Few very small ink stains, otherwise about VG Paul Quensel (1865-1951) German Playwright.Otto Erich Hartleben (1864-1905) German AuthorSteiner and Hartleben were co-publishers of the influential literary weekly â€œMagazin fur Litteratur”.
