Description
Staffordshire or Shropshire, circa 1750. The word Jackfield comes immediately to mind when describing this three-footed pot generically, the type of black glazed red earthenware made early- to mid-18th century, hand-painted with a honey gilding, easily worn, the globular teapot with applied vine and leaves with a glossy black glaze, and with crabstock handle and spout, and with bird finial. Mid-18th century, Jackfield, Shropshire or possibly made in Staffordshire.

Appears to have no restoration. Slight glaze flakes at the two peaked areas of heart. Minor glaze flakes at rear edge of rim.
