Description
For your consideration is this 18th C. Dutch Dogon emerald green and sky blue trade beads. These beads manufactured in Holland or possibly Germany, traded to the Dogon people of Mali around the 18th C. There are 37 emerald trade beads and 43 sky blue trade beads adorning these two necklaces. The Dutch traded beads of this style were traded with the Dogon people in exchange for furs, raw materials, and slaves. The condition of these beads good with all beads present with some small signs of rupturing to a few beads and on the emerald green necklace the core strand shows a small repair with tape. The measurements of this these trade beads are 10" from core knot to beads and bead width of 1/2".
