Art and Crafts Inkwell Stand and Book Binding, German
Circa 1905
Erhardt & Sohne, German, the manufacturer was in Schwâbisch-Gmund, part of Baden Würtemberg.
Complementary secessionist period set of desk objects with rose wood wood inlay on brass. Symmetrical designs are made up of organic shapes inspired by branching, leafy trees. Binding is with green leather and grass green silk on interior. Curved stand features double handles and square well. Possibly made by Erhard and Son. Stand measures apprx 1-3/4"H x 8-1/4"L x 5"W. Binding measures apprx 11-3/8"H x 8-5/8"W.
Condition: Leather on binding is cracking; brass details are lightly scratched from handling. Binding has green soiling on cover.
Inkwell stand has a piece of wood inlay missing
