Description
***Auction Highlight*** 1855 Variety K-3a R6 California Pioneer Gold Kellogg & Co $20 Graded Unc Details BY USCG. HIGHLIGHT OF THE ENTIRE AUCTION : Up for Auction is a Double Rarity. An 1855 Kellogg & Co, California Pioneer Gold. Variety K-3a, Rarity 6, The scarcest date and variety known of the Kellogg Gold. WOW!. Only a handful of Kellogg & Co Gold survives today in any grade. Kellogg Only made $20 gold Pieces in 1854 and 1855. The 1855 is the rarest of the two dates and of the varieties, the K-3a, medium Arrows variety is the rarest. 24 pieces were brought up from the S.S. Central America. Most were pristine, but several did have damage due to acidity in the surrounding waters. Based on the surface condition, I believe this is one of those pieces, as the corrosion would have taken many many years to have occurred. The piece at hand is an Unc Details example, likely recovered from many years under water. A Corey's Pick, Bid to Win, Don't let it get Away, you might not find its equal Coin. I give this coin my highest recommendation
