East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 19th to early 20th century CE. A group of four carved soapstone items. One is a complete "chop" seal, an elongated cuboid in form, with an incised seal on one end. Two others are in the same form as chop seals but lack the actual seal end; both have ornate openwork zoomorphic carving on one side. Chop marks or chops are the Western names for this traditional Chinese (and other East Asian) signature method. The fourth item is a zoomorphic pendant with incised characters. Size of red seal (all are similar in size): 0.7" W x 2.25" H (1.8 cm x 5.7 cm)
Provenance: private collection of the late Karming Wong; approximate date of acquisition: late 1970 to early 1980

Light wear on surface commensurate with age, including some small chips and nicks from peripheries and light scratching. Overall all are in fine condition.
