Description
China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 18th to 19th century CE. A large carved granite table on four legs, with carved foo dogs crouched on top. The foo dogs here are guardians charged with protecting the writer using the ink stone. Incised floral pattern along sides. Impressed three petal ink older between dogs. Size: 6-1/2"H (16.5 cm) x 12"L (30.5 cm) x 7-3/4"W (19.5 cm).
