Image depicts a floral still life. This stunningly elegant piece is a perfect example of the understated style for which Matisse was so well known. Unframed dimensions approximately 16" x 29.75".

Henri Matisse (French, 1869 - 1954) was an artist known for both his fluid use of colour and his original draughtsmanship. He was an illustrator, printmaker, and sculptor, but is known primarily as a painter. Matisse is commonly regarded, along with Pablo Picasso, as one of the artists who best helped to define the revolutionary developments in the visual arts throughout the opening decades of the twentieth century.
