Description
Space Shuttle (RMS) Remote Manipulator System Arm Replica The Shuttle's payload deployment and retrieval system includes an electromechanical arm that maneuvers a payload from the payload bay of the space Shuttle orbiter to its deployment position and then releases it. It can also grapple a free-flying payload, maneuver it to the payload bay of the orbiter and berth it in the orbiter. This arm is referred to as the "Remote Manipulator System (RMS)". This RMS arm replica (similar to pictured above note the Shuttle cargo bay is not included, only the arm!) was built by a multi-award winning Hollywood special effects company (bet you can't guess who!) and used in the 2004 film "Day After Tomorrow". An attractive replica of Shuttle hardware. Minor faults. Buyer must arrange professional shipping.
