IMPERIAL EDITION BIBLE IN CHINESE, [The New Testament]. [Shanghai: American Presbyterian Mission Press, 1894], printed in black and red, title page stated "IMPERIAL EDITION. Printed from the same type as the Presentation Copy of the Empress-Dowager." Original maroon morocco over beveled boards blind stamped with a bamboo pattern, front board lettered in gilt, all edges gilt. Presentation inscription to front flyleaf "This Chinese Bible was the property of Ben F. Wilson, and was given to him by his nephew, Dr. Frank W. Price and his sister and bother-in-law Dr. & Mrs. P. Frank Price, all three missionaries to China." Dr. Frank W. Price (1895-1974) was noted missionary to China and author on Chinese culture. 1894. 12 1/2" x 9 1/2".
Good overall condition, some marginal damp stains to last 22 pages and end flyleaf, covers detached at hinges, but present, above noted ink inscription.
