Dated 1861, a partially printed, partially handwritten Union States Army Officer's Commission document with signature and stamp. Commissions the recipient a Captain in the Eleventh Regiment of Infantry. Signature middle lower right ABRAHAM LINCOLN, with additional signature of Secretary of War (1861-1862) SIMON CAMERON to left of Lincoln's. Additional handwritten marginalia in red and faded brown ink to upper left, notes and signature from Union Adjutant General. Impressed green seal stamped to center left. Presented in a decorative gilt frame. Good to fair condition with age related wear to document and losses to frame. Measures 17 1/4 in. x 13 1/2 in. (sight), 20 1/2 in. x 16 1/2 in. (framed).
