Description
A lot of 3 ancient ceramic lamps from the Holy Land. The first is a Hellenistic type, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, with long spout and pierced lug to one side, L: 2 3/4 in (7 cm); the second is a Byzantine type, c. 6th - 7th Century AD, with tall handle and a cross on the nozzle, L: 4 1/4 in (10.8 cm); and the last a Byzantine type, c. 7th - 8th Century AD, of ovoid shape with tall vertical handle, the angled side decorated with geometric devices including pairs of fish and a bird. L: 3 5/8 in (9.2 cm). A nice mixed group! Ex Hamedian Gallery, Jerusalem; Ex Los Angeles private collection.
