A lot of 4 ancient ceramic lamps from the Holy Land. The first is a Roman type, c. 1st - 2nd Century AD, with circular body and splayed nozzle, L: 2 3/4 in (7 cm). Bussiere and Rivel, no. 308; the second and third are a pair of Roman 'frog' lamps, c. 3rd - 4th Century AD, of lentoid shape with stylized laurel or palm wreath motif on the back, both about 3 in (7.6 cm); and the last is a Byzantine type, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, with decorated upper body including palmettes and concentric circles between the fill-hole and wick-hole, L: 3 3/4 in (12.1 cm).
