TITLE: 'Hoffmania Refulgens, Florida, 1979'
MEDIUM: Vintage Silver Gelatin
IMAGE SIZE: 9 x 11 3/8 in
DESCRIPTION: This vintage silver gelatin print is signed in pencil with two blindstamp credits sheet recto. Stamped, titled and numbered in pencil mount verso. Printed in 1980.
From the collection of Robert K. Byers, with the collection stamp and numbering verso. Acquired directly from the artist.
Don Worth (1924-2009) held an innate love for classical music, with disciplined study that translated into a technical mastery of photography. Worth's path resembles that of his mentor, Ansel Adams, who also balanced his commitments to music and photography. Worth became Adams' first full-time assistant in 1956, initiating a long-term friendship founded on their mutual aesthetic interests. Worth went on to differentiate himself as a horticultural photographer, and taught photography for three decades in San Francisco.
