Classical World, Italy, Etruscan culture, ca. early 6th century BCE. A petite wheel-thrown kyathos formed in the glossy black-glazed style of Bucchero ware. The flared cup body has a flared foot and features an incised groove beneath a register of incised zigzags beneath the rim. A mold-formed handle features a protruding face on the bottom as well as a petite top nodule above incised horizontal striations and was applied once the cup body had been formed. Size: 3.75" W x 5.6" H (9.5 cm x 14.2 cm)

Repairs to handle and small areas of rim flanking handle base, with petite chips and light adhesive residue along break lines. Minor abrasions and encrustations, with softening to some mold-formed details on handle as well as incised details on cup body. Nice remains of black color throughout.
