Description
Very large WWII 40th Infantry Division Group to an Infantry Officer, 1st. Lt. Andrew J. Bosmans, who earned a Bronze Star for Valor at Dolan's Hill, PI in 1945. The group includes the following highlights: -Uniform jacket with all insignia, also with an 8th ID patch from his early war enlisted service. -Medals- Not engraved, as the BSM was field issued by Division Commander Brig. Gen. Donald J. Myers in 1945 (comes with an autographed photo from the General presenting the BSM to Bosmans. Some of the sports medals contain gold content as they are marked "Gold Filled". The NY Conspicuous Service Cross is numbered and sterling, with its original case of issue.-Framed original BSM Valor Citation-Framed color portrait of Lt. Bosmans in the same uniform-Lots of paperwork from his enlisted through officer career, to include 50's Reserve time. Most is WWII, and some are copies such as his CSC certificate and his final discharge.-Lots of original photos. Some captured Japanese ones with Japanese writing on the back, one noting he found it in a wallet in a cave, many combat area photos, some from Dolan's Hill following the battle, training, Inchon, Korea, what appear to be Japanese POW's, etc.All in all a really complete and documented group. This group was purchased directly from Bosman's son by the person who sold it to me.
