-NO RESERVE-Civil war Confederate Richmond Sharps carbine in overall VG condition.RARE AND FINE EARLY CONFEDERATE S. C. ROBINSON SHARPS CARBINE. 52Cal. 38″ overall, 21″ rnd bbl with brass bbl band and fixed sights. Confederate Robinson Sharps were made early in the war and all saw hard service. Only 2000 of these carbines were made, and very few survive in complete original condition like this one. Serial number 700 all matched. This is a very nice example with crisp lock markings "S.C. ROBINSON / ARMS MANUFACTORY / RICHMOND, VA / 1862" and 700. Bbl markings "S.C. ROBINSON / ARMS MANUFACTORY" found forward of rear sight and "RICHMOND, VA / 1862" rear of sight, though markings are not as crisp as on lock, they are discernible. Gun is 100% original and complete except it lacks the little spring retaining button on the right side of the lock. It is completely functional. very good overall. Hammer shows a 20th century weld repair which is pretty darn common on Robinson and Richmond Sharps. Matching SNs found externally on lock and tang. Assembly numbers elsewhere. The previous owner passed away a few weeks ago and he was a stickler for -proper-... and this one is surely that.
