This loosely painted ink wash sketch on paper is done it the abstract expressionist style of Richard Diebenkorn (American, 1922-1993)An almost lifeless figure painted in heavy strokes gives this sketch an enormous amount of gravity. This lot is inscribed "RD 75" in the lower right corner.
Dimensions: 15 x 22 inches unframed.

Fair aged condition. The paper is rippled throughout. There are small tears along all edges, and pin holes in all four corners. Tears in the upper left and lower right corner have been repaired from the back with tape. Verso has pastel marks from rubbing against another drawing.
