This lot consists of a framed oil painting on canvas, done in the Magical Realist style of Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita (Japanese-French, 1886-1968). Image depicts a sullen-faced girl with dark brown hair, a large bow, and a cheerful red pinafore. A hand-painted inscription at lower right corner reads "Foujita". Artist is not listed. This handsome piece of folk art is framed in rustic wood. Overall dimensions approximately 14.5" x 12.25"; image sight approximately 10.25" x 8.25".

Leonard Tsuguharu Foujita (Japanese-French, 1886-1968) was a painter and printmaker. Foujita applied Japanese ink techniques to his works of Post-Impressionism, Magical Realism, and Expressionism. Foujita had strong ties to France, where he spent a great deal of his career. After Foujita's 1918 exposition in Paris, he became renowned for his images of women and cats.
