The Plate is magnificent with ultra attractive undisturbed high copper age patina. This plate is the style with the extra serif inside the top loop of the letter C. One of the prettiest CS plates you will find.

Belt is a standard CW officers sword belt showing much use and positive evidence of later wear in parades or at reunions. The belt and hanger straps are unquestionably 1860s. The straps were strengthened years later and have reinforcing rivets which were obviously added circa 1900. They are the starburst style white metal rivet. The belt is definitely Civil War but I see no evidence of it being southern made.
