Frances Fern Stewart was a young lady who was destined for Hollywood films but a car accident derailed her plans. She then went on to become a reporter and work for Capital Records. Included is a phone book with Capital Records contacts. While at Capital, she developed a friendship with singer, songwriter, Johnny Mercer. They exchanged letters back and forth and one year, he gave her a nice cigarette lighter. This lighter still has the orginal packaging. There is are a lot of corispondance between Johhny Mercer and Frances Stewart. Ms. Stewart also had a troubled relationship with her beau, Robert Ashley and wrote her thoughts about the mental abuse she felt he dealt her. Ms. Stewart had ancestry that made her eligible for DAR, and although marriage was not required, she forged a copy of her grandparent's marriage certificate adding her and Robert's name which she submitted to DAR. Several of those forged copies are also included in this lot. She kept a couple scrapbooks with some of the stories she wrote as a reporter, photos of her school years and misc family and friends. It will be fun for someone who enjoys reading other's history.
