Description
14th century AD. A pewter ampulla for holy water from a shrine, with plano-convex body and angled loops; impressed heater shield to the obverse with hatching and reserved cross (St. George's arms) in a circle, and similar to the reverse. 46.7 grams, 63mm (2 1/2"). Property of an East Anglia gentleman; previously in a private collection formed before 2000.
