Description
9th-11th century AD. A pair of hollow ceramic vessels, intended to be filled with explosive liquid and a wick, and used as a hand grenade: one with a piriform body, three raised lugs to the body, two circumferential bands to the base, short neck with narrow aperture; one with a bulbous body with stamped decoration, concentric circle decoration around the short neck.
