**First Time At Auction**
Western Africa, Nigeria, Igbo peoples, ca. first half of the 20th century CE. A hefty bracelet currency that is formed by coiling a singular copper wire fifteen times around itself and capping the terminals with discoid ornamentation. Bracelets like this example are wearable and visible forms of currency that are often exchanged during important or ceremonial exchanges. Layers of brown and green patina cover the entire surface. Lucite display stand for photography purposes only. Size: 9.75" L x 4.25" W (24.8 cm x 10.8 cm)

Condition
Slight bending to overall form of some rings and discoid terminals, with stable fissures to both terminals, and light encrustations, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen deposits and nice patina throughout.
