Description
**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A gorgeous example of an unguentarium, free-blown from semi-translucent glass of an amber-pink hue, meant to hold scented oils and perfumes. The vessel exhibits an inverted piriform body with a rounded shoulder, a slight bulge along the lower neck, and a gently flared rim. Enveloping the entire vessel are layers of stunning windswept iridescence in vibrant silvery and rainbow hues that imbue the surfaces with an opulent presentation.
