Description
Western Europe, Spain, ca. 17th century CE. A lovely wheel-thrown pottery jug with a flat base, a piriform body with a rounded shoulder, a thick rim, and an applied strap handle joining neck to shoulder. The exterior is covered in a pale grey slip with a pair of dark-brown concentric circles around the lower shoulder. A beautiful example! Size: 7.5" W x 11.425" H (19 cm x 29 cm).

Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, small nicks to rim, handle, body, and base, and some fading to slip pigmentation, otherwise intact and very good. Light earthen and mineral deposits throughout.
