Description
A group of 4 Moldavite tektites. Formed by a meteorite impact about 15 million years ago in southern Germany which left the Nördlinger Ries impact crater. The impact splattered molten material high into the air which cooled as these amorphous clumps of green silicate rock and fell back to Earth, mainly in what are today Southern Bohemian localities. These examples are a nice translucent forest green color and in the natural shape as found in Chlum, Moldau River Valley, Czech Republic. 23 x 12 x 8 mm (2.45), 21 x 16 x 8 mm (2.09g), 21 x 11 x 7 mm (1.48g) & 16 x 12.5 x 7 mm (0.73g).
