Description
Included in this lot is a small cased grouping of relic items displayed with a postcard of Fort Ticonderoga. There is another nicely cased display containing original beam fragments from Fort Edward, New York, and four dug musket balls. There are a total of 8 powder horns; one is a York County screw-tip powder horn, one is a small Lancaster County priming horn, there is a fairly large Lancaster County powder horn, a Berks County powder horn, an unknown screw-tip powder horn, a smaller screw-tip powder horn, a small flat priming horn, and an interesting Victorian powder horn with a turned butt indicating York County origins and painted on the body with flowers. Included is a signed letter from Bill Guthman on his letterhead dating from May of 2002. CONDITION: Both cased displays are in very good condition. All powder horns show some wear and scattered marks from use; a couple have chipping and age cracks on the plugs. A very interesting group of attractive powder horns and artifacts.
