This is an excellent map of Texas, filled with a remarkable amount of information. Insets are of the panhandle and the vicinity of Galveston. Details include Indian tribes, watershed, counties, cities and towns, wagon roads or trails including the Overland Mail Route, railroards, etc. There are no counties formed in the northwest. The Salt Plains lay to the east of the Staked Plain. The location near Brownsville of the Mexican-American War battles of Palo Alto and Resaca de la Palma is identified.
