Italian librarian.- Besozzi (Cherubino, Olivetan Abbot of San Vittore al Corpo, Milan) Letter addressed to the librarian Giovanni Battista Castiglioni at the Braidense Library in Milan, 3pp., in Italian, sm. 4to, Siena, 18th September 1770, congratulating Castiglioni for his recent appointment as librarian and answering questions Castiglioni has posed including his opinion on "the order, public use and conservation of books", he mentions reading books on library science, and he advises to use both a numerical and a linked alphabetical catalogue, in order to better to integrate into the existing holdings any future purchases of volumes written by authors already listed", folds, slightly browned, edges a little creased.
