Antique Japanese carved wood carp-form Yokogi, c. 1840, Japan, carved and varnished solid wood depicting a fish with scales, the yokogi hung from a pole that suspends a kettle in a hearth and was a symbol of protection against fires, includes original purchase invoice, on custom metal stand, 5"h x 16"l x 4"w (fish), 7"h (total)
