Description
An attractively carved Maya cylinder from El Salvador, c. AD 400 - 700, decorated with a glyph band characteristic of the Pacific Slope ceramics. The body of the vessel is deeply ribbed, with remnants of painted stucco evident. The glyph band is highlighted with red pigment. 6 1/2 x 5 1/4 in (15.8 x 15.7 cm). Strong mineral deposits, old find site sticker on the bottom. Ex Toledo private estate.
