A pair of Near Eastern terracotta loom weights or possibly a form of tiles or inlays, c. 2nd - 1st Millennium BC, each rectangular and originally with two horizontal holes through the sides, the ends with incised circles. Quite interesting pieces! 2 3/4 in x 1 1/2 in (7 x 3.8 cm) and 2 1/4 in x 1 3/4 in (6.7 x 4.5 cm). Earthen deposits. Ex UK private collection acquired from Herakles Numismatics and Antiquities, Munich in early 2000's; previously belonging to a German private collection formed in the 1970's.
