Mayan Seated Dignitary Mold~ Pre Colombian 600-800 AD
Used to create the front of a seated dignitary figure, this mold would be reused hundreds of times. The dignitary show their connection to the Gods with their Headdress. The headdress is dedicated to the God or Goddess with whom they will bestow the gift of all the good accomplished during their life. The seated dignitary figures were given as gifts by a Mayan Lord or Lady, to secure the support of the people. The figures would then be used to tell the myths and stories of the Gods.
