Description

Two original Canadian WWII small recruitment color posters, circa 1942, the first "Canada's New Army Needs Men Like You," designed by Eric Aldwinckle and Albert Cloutier, depicting a knight on horseback, over whom is superimposed soldiers on motorcycles, and "Be Ready, The Army Must Finish the Job!", designed by Russell Taber, showing a man's hand gripping army gear, both distributed by the Department of National Defence (sic). Director of Public Information, Ottawa; copies of both are in the Canadian War Museum. Each: 18" H x 12' W. Both with center crease and edge losses and splits, Taber poster with old cardboard backing.
