Second half 19th century, a = 52 x 53 cm, b = 56 x 58 cm, South East Caucasus, Moghan region
Two Shahsavan bags woven in different techniques. A = Pile-woven face, a palmette design in the camel field, a double vine in the wide white border, new overcasting all around. The monochrome kilim back is not original, stuffed to make a cushion. Slight signs of wear. B = Half of a khorjin woven in the reverse sumakh technique, a dark blue field with a repeat of octagons enclosing "spider güls", original brown and red kilim back. Good condition.
