Dutch beads, originally created in the Netherlands, but found in Africa, ca. 18th to early 19th century CE. A lovely necklace comprised of dozens of larger, rounded glass beads of translucent white, blue, and green hues - arranged in an attractive arrangement. Antique brass spacers separate them. Both beautiful and steeped in history. These antique beads are strung on modern wire with a solid sterling silver clasp. Length of necklace: 26" L (66 cm); size of largest bead: 0.75" W (1.9 cm)
Provenance: private Boulder, Colorado, USA collection, acquired 2017, Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA

Condition
Antique beads with modern string and clasp. All of the glass beads have great deposits and abraded surfaces commensurate with age, with a few having tiny losses. Brass beads have rich patina.
