Description
This is a rare Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima idol, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A flat pottery figure decorated with applied strips of pottery, in the form of standing nude female with scarification marks on her shoulders and with emphasized genitalia, her arms out to the sides. The sculpture measures 5 inches tall x 2.75 inches wide ( 6.25 inches tall on display stand). Provenance: The Dr Brian Healy Estate, New York.
