USS Constitution Bookends Pair Made from Paul Revere's Copper from the USS Frigate Constitution during the 1927 Restoration
c. 1927 Cast Copper Bookend Set of Two, Made From Copper Materials Taken From the Frigate USS Constitution, originally supplied by Paul Revere circa 1797, and removed during the 1927 Restoration, Very Fine.
Measures approximately 6.5" tall, 5.75" wide and 2" deep with flange. Some scratches, dings, a bend in ships wheel handle from actual use over the decades with a natural patina. Center portion of the wheel reads: " OLD IRONSIDES - Launched 1797, 1804 Tripoli, 1812 Guerriere, Java, 1815 Cyanne, Le-Vant, US FRIGATE CONSTITUTION". The base plate reads: "THIS MATERIAL WAS TAKEN FROM U.S. FRIGATE CONSTITUTION 1927". Pleasing condition for display. (2 items).
