Polsh patriotic handcrafted gorget that belonged to a Polish prisoner in a Soviet gulag. He was released from gulag and he joined the Anderst army created in Russia. It was this army who crossed the battle route through the Middle East, Africa, and fought in Tobruk, Ancona, Monte Cassino and other famous battles of the WW2... This gorget was made as a memento to wear in a commemorative ceremony after the war. The gorget depicts the Polish national emblem, the eagle on the front and on the reverse has the following inscription: "Souvenir of the march from Soviet Russia through the Middle East, Italy to Poland 1942-1945".
