Description
Lustrous, Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Wanli Wucai dragon GU vase. The Finest Chinese porcelain vase potted in a traditional Gu shape. The beaker having baluster shaped body, with bulging belly, trumpet-shaped on the tall neck, raised with high round flaring foot base, like reverse bowl with slightly flaring mouth rim and slightly short straight foot base rim. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white underglaze base color which contrast against the Wucai design color. Wucai or five-color shades and tones, brightly painted in Wucai design, Opaque colors around the exterior, between the filling motif decorated in colorful painting. The main body, the neck and the upper open lip delicately fine depicted with snarling huge imperial five claws dragon careening through cumulus clouds above thrashing Li-shui waves in a green and red color dragon squama rounded the GU vase to chasing flaming pearl amidst flames. The foot base rim festooned with peony flowers blooms interspersed with fresh green foliage, eight auspicious Chinese ornament and flowers blooms among scrolling tendril. The middle belly decorated with scrolling tendril, and Each section banded and enclosed with double fine blue rings. Dragon is the symbol of the Emperor, the Son of Heaven, eternity, Yang and Yin, male vigor and fecundity, the Li-shui wave pattern which is known to be the abode of dragons. The Lines of the drawings are clear, the light and dark shades are subtle. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain conformed all required specimen to be high valued Chinese porcelain wares, with finest material, the whiteness, the glaze, and the carving. Without overlap the outlines of the design, well carved, clear, subtle, distinct, and the shape is uniformly proportioned.

The Under bears a reign mark, a six underglaze blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Made In The Years of Wanli Reign Period of The Great Ming Dynasty.
